Last week we began our coverage of the Commonwealth Games with special focus on our friend, David Davies. David succeeded in securing a bronze medal in the 400m Freestyle swimming, an additional event for David, whose main event is the 1500m Freestyle.
Today, David came first in his heat for the 1500m Freestyle and will be swimming in the final tomorrow morning. The final will be televised by the BBC between 8 and 10.30am UK time. Why not watch with your children over breakfast and help us cheer David on to Gold!
The Mighty Max News and the Tell Mighty Max pages in the Kids section include the very latest news from the Commonwealth Games with a special focus on David Davies, as well as a brief history of the Games and the Commonwealth itself and information about how the diet of a world-class athlete can affect their performance.
While we're on a swimming theme, please take note of the first of our Recent News items. Oakengates Leisure Centre is one of 500 leisure centres nationwide who aim to raise £2 million for National Children's Homes through a sponsored Swimathon from 23rd-26th March 2006.
