The recent tsunami has been on everybody's minds and we have all wondered what we could do to help. On Wednesday 19 January a whole day of special events was organised in Civic Offices to raise money for the Tsunami Appeal.
Some of our very kind school kitchen staff volunteered their time to make cakes and biscuits for the special day of activity. Our Civic Office staff paid a visit to every part of the building selling the cakes and biscuits and altogether we raised a fantastic £305.04. We want to thank all those who volunteered their time and effort to raise this money.
Our colleagues in Leisure held a "Kick the Football the Fastest" competition and raised £50 for the appeal. Other activities included a ransom jailbreak, a charity carwash, a book sale and more.
So far the Council as a whole has raised an astounding £5500 to go straight to the Tsunami Appeal.
