Primary school canteens across Bridgend County Borough are set to be over run by Superheroes with the launch of a brand new competition.
“Healthy Heroes” is challenging pupils to design a superhero made from healthy foods, such as, fruit and vegetables or health food cartons, such as, fruit containers, yoghurt pots, etc. The hero can be in the form of a poster, collage or a 3D model. It will encourage pupils to think about what is classed as “healthy foods” as well as giving them a chance to win some BIG PRIZES!
The prizes are:
1st place: A brand new “Shogun” bicycle
2nd place : A game of bowling for 4 people at Hollywood Bowl, Cardiff
3rd place: A tour for 2 of the Millennium Stadium
Pupils also get the chance to win online! By visiting www.myschoollunch.co.uk/bridgend and answering 4 simple superhero related questions, they could win a £10 voucher to spend in Woolworths.
Closing dates for all entries is 6th March 2007
Norma Griffiths, Group Manager for Catering Services:
“This is set to be our most exciting competition to date. Not only will it be fun for children to design a superhero to rival the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman, but it will get them thinking about what is classed as a “healthy food”.
Thanks has to be given to the local businesses who donated the superb prizes. Without their generosity, we would not be able to offer such fantastic incentives”
