With politicians encouraging us to think about our carbon footprint and stories almost every day about the damage we are doing to the Earth and O Zone layer, Bridgend school pupils are being asked to think about what they can do to help save the planet in the latest initiative from the school meal service.

Pupils in primary and comprehensive have been asked to design a poster showing what can be recycled from our kitchens to be in with a chance of winning some BIG PRIZES.

1^st place will receive a brand new 8gb iPod Nano worth £129.00!!!

2^nd place will receive a half day of paintballing for 2 at TASK FORCE paintball centre near Cowbridge

PLUS

4 runners up will each receive a £10 gift voucher from Woolworths

And primary school pupils can also enter an exclusive online competition at the official primary school meals website www.myschoollunch.co.uk/bridgend. 

All they have to do is answer 4 questions on recycling to try and win a play session for 3 at PLAYZONE SOFT PLAY CENTRE in Swansea.

Closing date for the poster design competition is Friday 29^th February while the online (primary pupils only) competition ends on Friday 7^th March.

By asking children to take a hard look at the items in their kitchen to decide what can be recycled, we are hoping that they will think twice before throwing away their rubbish.
