Bridgend School Meals are excited to announce the introduction of two new additions to our website.
The first is the Tom Daley website.
Pupils in Bridgend will now be able to learn all about teenage diving star, Tom Daley with the launch of a new website. The website is part of www.myschooollunch.co.uk/bridgend which aims to educate young people and parents about school meals and healthy eating. The new section of the website includes information on diving, swimming and gymnastics and has videos and bi-monthly blogs. Every month young people have the opportunity to win a t-shirt signed by Tom when they ‘Ask Tom' a question.
Tom Daley was Britain's second youngest athlete to compete in an Olympic Games when he went to Beijing in 2008 at just 14 years of age. Tom was 7th in the Men's Individual 10 Metre Platform Final and 8th in the Synchronised Final. He is aiming to win a medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The website at www.myschooollunch.co.uk/bridgend/tomdaley will follow Tom's progress as he trains and prepares for the next Olympic Games.
Catering Services are excited about the website and Tom being launched in Bridgend. Educating young people about healthy eating and lifestyles can be a daunting task but role models like Tom Daley give them someone to aspire to. The site is very interactive so it is a great way to get young people interested and they can watch videos, download activity sheets and learn about different sports and healthy lifestyles.
The second is the 'I Love Water' website
The ‘I Love Water' website provides information on the importance of drinking water and keeping hydrated. It provides really important messages about a healthy lifestyle.
There are links to the water supplier in our area, how water affects our bodies, a quiz, interesting activity sheets and more!
We hope that pupils, parents and teachers will enjoy looking at these new websites and find them interesting, informative and fun!
