In the winter, when the weather is colder, it's easy to forget about the good habits you got into by eating lots of salad and fruit and drinking water in the summer. Perhaps instead of salad, you might try more vegetables. You'll definitely get the chance to have fruit and vegetables as part of your school meal.

Try to make sure you still drink several glasses of water each day, especially if you are playing with friends and do any sport activities. Even if the weather is colder you need to make sure you stay hydrated and the best way is drinking lots of fresh water.

So remember these points to stay fit and healthy:

• Make sure you eat breakfast, it really is the most important meal of the day as it helps you concentrate and enjoy lessons more
• Try to eat five portions of fruit and vegetables each day
• Eat a mixture of foods with lots of fruit and vegetables, and try the new dishes on the menus in school
• Drink plenty of water in school and at home
• Try not to eat too many sweets and chocolate as they can harm your teeth, and make sure you clean your teeth twice each day
• Enjoy lots of exercise
• Get plenty of sleep
