Cambridgeshire Catering and Cleaning Services (CCS) has been shortlisted for this year's Cost Sector Catering Marketing Award. The Cost Sector Catering awards are the pivotal point of the foodservice calendar and are recognised as the most coveted award in the cost sector catering industry.

CCS is up against very strong competition from The Compass Group and Restaurant Associates, both part of the largest contract catering organisation in the world.

The shortlisting recognises the excellent work that CCS has undertaken in promoting the school meals service in Cambridgeshire. It's 10 out of 10 campaign has had a significant impact on the way school lunches are promoted in Cambridgeshire and on the rising amount of children taking a meal.

Richard Ware, Head of Catering and Cleaning Services at Cambridgeshire County Council said: "The whole team is absolutely delighted that the hard work we have all undertaken in developing our marketing campaign has been recognised nationally. We are up against two large commercial contractors who have multi million pound marketing budgets, however we hope that our campaign struck the right cord with the judges. Regardless of the outcome, to be shortlisted is a fantastic achievement and recognises what we have achieved in Cambridgeshire. That is a lot more children eating a delicious, healthy lunch from fresh, locally sourced ingredients."

The awards take place in London on 16th April at The London Hilton Metropole Hotel, where there will be a gathering of over 800 of the catering industries leading lights.
