The plans for National School Meals Week 2009 are really coming together and we have lots of activity planned to make this a fun event for your children.
See what is going on in Cambridgeshire.
- On Monday the result of Britain's favourite school meal will be announced. Voting closes at the end of October so there is still time to vote for your favourite school meal at www.iloveschoolmeals.co.uk/vote. Please ask your child to vote too. There is the chance to win an Argos voucher.
- On the Tuesday pupils can watch an online cookery demonstration at www.iloveschoolmeals.co.uk by School Chef of the Year, Debbie Mumford. Children can see her cook her winning recipe and learn some basic cooking skills.
- On the Friday children can download thank you cards for their school cooks. The templates can be downloaded from www.iloveschoolmeals.co.uk
- Each school has different events planned so look out for posters in your child's school or ask the school what is going on during the week.
- David Haw, Executive Chef, will be doing breadmaking workshops and cooking sessions at different schools throughout the week.
Colin Jackson is supporting National School Meals Week and launching the event on Monday 9th November. During the week you will be able to see video clips of the launch and activities during the week at www.iloveschoolmeals.co.uk.
