Why should I choose a school lunch for my child?
Children eating a school lunch

Healthy Mind, Healthy Body

Children use up a great deal of energy during a full school day and need to concentrate during lessons, & recharge their batteries for the afternoon.

We’ve made it our priority to ensure your child can choose a nutritious lunch, which provides an excellent contribution to their future health.

Nutritional analysis of our menus is undertaken with the aid of qualified dietitians and we aspire to meet these very high nutrient standards well in advance of that date.  http://www.schoolfoodtrust.org.uk

  • The service is carried out by trained, local staff, who understand the needs of young people and are often parents themselves.
  • Caterers are trained in craft skills to produce high standards of meals, prepared and cooked by traditional methods.
  • Staff have a good knowledge of nutrition; this is important in helping children to choose wisely and eat and enjoy all of their meals.
  • Tasters are always available to encourage children to try new dishes.
  • Most of our fresh meat, poultry and sausages come from producers within East Anglia.
  • Fresh vegetables and fruits are sourced locally wherever possible.
  • A wide variety of vegetarian dishes are available everyday.
  • Many special diets can be catered for with the help of medical advice.
  • Children can sit down and enjoy their meal with friends, developing social skills valuable in later life.
