During June 2010, the coalition government advised that it was shelving plans made by the previous Labour government to extend the entitlement to free school meals.

The amended entitlement scheme was due to start in September and it was anticipated that this would help a number of parents on lower income.

At this point, it is understood that the current regulations will now stay in place and parents can check their entitlement on our Free Meals page
