How much is a school meal?
The cost of a school meal in Primary Schools is £1.85.
What will my child have at lunch time?
Each day there will be a choice of at least 2 hot main meal choices *. Fresh vegetable and potato or pasta/rice dish,salads and wholemeal bread. A hot pudding with custard or a choice of cold sweets, fresh fruit is served daily.
*some schools operate a single choice menu go to the Menus page to see your child's menu. Menus are displayed in alphabetical order.
Please send the money for five days with your child on Monday. The class teacher will collect it first thing in the morning.
What happens if I forget to send the money?
Your child will still be able to have a meal but can you ensure the money arrives the following day.
How often do the menus change?
Most primary schools have a two week cycle menu . The menu is changed annually.
What happens if my child is ill and is not at school one day?
You will receive a credit for any meals not taken and the following week you would pay for four meals and not five.
How do you encourage children to adopt a healthy lifestyle?
We work very closely with schools to help them achieve Healthy School Status. If you look through the pages of the My School Lunch website you will see what we do. This includes encouraging children to take exercise.
