Is your child entitled to a free school meal?

School meals are given free of charge to pupils whose parents / carers receive one of the following benefits:

• Income Support
• Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
• An Income-Related Employment and Support Allowance
• Child Tax Credit and income of less than £16,040 (but not Working Tax Credit - see below)
• The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
• Support under part VI of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999

Pupils from families where the parents' / carer's income is less than £16,040, but who receive Working Tax Credit are not entitled to free school meals or uniform grant.
