Healthy eating for a healthy lifestyle
We are committed to providing food that is nutritious and healthy. By us encouraging children to eat certain foods when they are young we are giving them a head start for later in life. As we provide food in schools we are able to educate pupils about the importance of healthy eating. Many of our employees are mums too and there is no better feeling for them than to see smiling faces and clean plates at the end of lunchtime.
To ensure we provide the best service, we employ the best staff. This gives you peace of mind that your child will receive quality food cooked to a high standard by people who understand the needs of the children.
Healthy eating means a healthy body and mind
We don’t just care about those who eat a school meal and we understand that some pupils do prefer a packed lunch. The health and well-being of all the children within our schools is very important to us. If you would like a fact sheet about providing a healthier packed lunch for your child then you can download it here.
What do other people think of our school meals?
Yvonne Clark, Cook Supervisor at St Margaret/ Mary's RC Junior School says "Having been involved in school catering for many years, the jokes about lumpy custard and soggy cabbage could not be further from the truth. It is a very old and outdated image. All our meals are healthy and the children really enjoy eating them. In fact, there has never been a better time to stay for a school meal!”
Steve Dixon, Headteacher at Cherryfield School said: “The school meals are fantastic. It is always great to see our children enjoying healthy school meals and I believe a nutritious meal at lunchtime always sets them up for afternoon lessons. I’d recommend a school meal to any parent.”
Councillor David Lonergan said: “In Knowsley we are very proud of our school meals. The menus are great and provide children with a healthy balanced meal. The quality is excellent and they are fantastic value for money. I always enjoy visits into schools so I can have a lunch and see the pupils and teachers enjoying them too.”
