Pip Helps Pupils Learn about Milk.
Date: 8/2/2008

Pip helps pupils learn about milk

Pupils of primary schools in Manchester are finding out about “the white stuff” in a fun way.

As part of Milk Week, our Nutritionists have been visiting schools along with Pip. They have given pupils free milk from a milk fountain and talked to them about the benefits of drinking milk.

The schools that were visited were Cavendish Community Primary, St Wilfrid's C of E Aided Primary, St Wilfrid's C of E Junior & Infants, Temple Primary and Birchfields Primary.

These Milk Week activities supported by dairy supplier, Dairy Crest, help tackle the health inequalities that exist in Manchester.

Councillor Bernard Priest, Manchester City Council’s Executive Member whose responsibilities include school meals services, said: “Milk is a very important source of nutrition for children and learning about it in a fun way will help them understand just how good for them it is.”
