Pasta Bake Milanaise - Makes 4 portions
Ingredients:
400g minced lamb (use Soya or Quorn Mince for a vegetarian alternative)
1 large onion.
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tsp mixed herbs
400g chopped tomatoes
1 large red pepper
150g pasta shells
50g frozen peas
1 large carrot, diced
100g cheese, grated
50g breadcrumbs
1. Fry onions and minced lamb in small amount of oil.
2. Add garlic, tomatoes, pepper, carrot, peas and mixed herbs, and sweat until covered.
3. Meanwhile cook pasta and drain.
4. Combine sauce and pasta, and place in an ovenproof dish.
5. Mix grated cheese and breadcrumbs together, sprinkle on top of mixture.
6. Brown in oven for approx. 10 minutes Gas mark 7, Electric 425 degrees fahrenheit or 220 degrees celsius.
