Monmouthshire County Council have continuously developed the school meals menus over the last few years and have made significant steps towards the requirements of the Welsh Assembly Government's Appetite for Life Action Plan.
The menus include a choice of freshly cooked food offering a balanced two-course meal. Menus are planned to incorporate healthy eating objectives including increasing fibre, reducing salt, fat and sugar. A choice can be made each day between from up to three main courses, at least one of which is always suitable for vegetarians.
Bread is served with meals as this is a starchy food that provides energy, a range of vitamins and minerals and is a good source of fibre.
For just £1.60 for Infants and £1.75 for Juniors pupils receive a main meal and a dessert.
Our menu is run on a 3 week rotational cycle with a strong focus on fruit, vegetables and salad with new menus being introduced twice a year.
