The North Yorkshire ‘My School Lunch’ website was launched on March 13^th 2006.  The site has been designed Karen  Fewell  a former pupil of Romanby Primary School in Northallerton where the site was officially launched.

The website will keep parents informed about school meals including the menus that are on offer in primary schools and will give children the opportunity to learn about food in a fun way.

On the site children will be able to ‘visit the fairground’ where they can play games such as:

·        Helter Skelter – A multiple choice quiz covering all areas of the food curriculum

·        The Mystery Tent – Where foods are matched to particular countries of the world

·        Whack a Food! – This game asks children to hit certain types of food to score a point – a wrong answer and its back to zero!

Teachers will be able to source teaching resources linked to the games on the site to assist them in lessons on food and nutrition.
