There was lots of festive cheer in school dining halls across North Yorkshire as thousands of children and teachers enjoyed their Christmas school lunch.  You can see some festive pictures from around the region on the right.

At Ainderby Steeple Primary School near Northallerton, Councillor A Barker joined pupils to sample the delicious Christmas meal.

Pupils from Sheriff Hutton Primary School ate their Christmas lunch with their Chair of Governors, Jill Anfield and Headteacher Pam Powell.  Kitchen staff Heather Lewis, Barbara Grinham (kitchen ass ) and Adel Davies (cook) watched the children enjoying their festive treat.

Cllr John Wren joined Head teacher Mrs Barbara Leadbeater and her pupils tuck into their Christmas dinner at Wedderburn Infants.
