Interested in a job in catering in Nottingham? We are currently looking for staff to work in our school kitchens. Here are some examples of the type of posts we offer.

Kitchen Assistant
You will help to prepare and serve meals, setting up the dining areas and wash up.  These are ideal roles for people who can work effectively as part of a team, have a flexible approach to work and who can communicate effectively with staff and pupils.  You must have a knowledge of basic food hygiene principles.  Hours range from 7½ to 15 per week.

Mobile Kitchen Assistant
Although based at one school, you must be able to travel to other kitchen sites across the City.

Assistant Cook
You will assist the Cook Supervisor with cooking, serving meals, book-keeping and training.  You will also assist other staff with special functions and training days, covering for the absence of the Cook Supervisor.  Some cash handling may be required.

Cook Supervisor
You will be responsible for the general supervision of the kitchen and staff, including cooking, serving of meals and cleaning.  You will also complete administration work in relation to the running of the kitchen.  You must have large scale catering experience, backed up by NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent level of experience, together with the ability to lead and motivate a team and have an adaptable, flexible approach to work.  You will need skills to communicate effectively with staff and customers.

Cashier
You will operate the cash till for a cash cafeteria service, as well as carrying out calculations and completing returns.  You must have good basic maths skills, the ability to work under pressure and the skills to communicate effectively with staff and pupils.
