A dedicated marketing plan and an emphasis on healthy eating has dramatically increased the number of Nottingham City children staying for a school meal.
New websites, fantastic promotions, a great healthy menu and education about the importance of eating the right foods are just some of the things that Nottingham City has done over the last year. It has led to an increase in paid meals of 4.9% and of free meals by 19.9%.
Jacquie Blake, Operations Manager, Nottingham City Neighbourhood Services said: "The health of the children in Nottingham City is very important to everyone in our team. We have put a lot of effort into ensuring that our meals are healthy and nutritious but will also be enjoyed by the children. We do a huge amount of work to promote our meals and are constantly looking for new ideas and campaigns. We have a lot more planned for the next academic year including a focus on what is grown and reared on the farm."
