The school catering team from Nottingham City Council were celebrating at the Local Authority Caterers Association (LACA) Awards 2007.  The awards were held on Thursday 12th July at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham.

The team won the LACA Catering Management Team of the Year 2007.  This award aims to give recognition to a management team, which has made an outstanding contibution to local authority catering. 

But this wasn't Nottingham's only success.  They were also runners up in the Education Catering Marketing Award against a lot of stiff competition.

The judges recognised the hard work made by Liz Dobson and her team in increasing meals numbers.  Nottingham City is also actively progressing cooking clubs for primary children and their parents.  The staff see their work as 'not just a job but more of a vocation'.  

Congratulations to everyone involved in school catering in Nottingham City.  This is an achievement to be very proud of.
