CYRIL LAUNCHES HIS NEW WEBSITE ON MONDAY 3RD MARCH AT www.myschoollunch.co.uk/nottingham

On
Monday 3rd March Cyril will launch his new website with assistance from Service Manager Liz Dobson and Operations Manager Jaquie Blake.  The server will go live at 12 noon and Primary Pupils from across the City will be able send messages to Cyril, find out more information about school lunches and enter a funfair full of educational games.  These games include: a Helter Skelter with a multiple choice quiz covering all areas of the food curriculum; the Strongest Person Hammer shows the relationship between food and energy; and Muncher helps children learn about micro-organisms and the conditions that cause food to decay.

Liz Dobson said,

“This is a very exciting project because it will support all our other promotions that are taking place in school.  In January we had a Winter Warmers theme where we encouraged children to wear hats and several layers of clothing.  In the summer term we will have a promotion linked to child safety week.  On top of this we are working with teachers to develop better links between the kitchen and the classroom.  I am certain that these activities will enhance education and help the young generation develop healthy lifestyle that will bring them real benefit in the years ahead.”

Jim Price, Headteacher of Old Basford Primary School, is featured on the website and says,

“I would have no hesitation in recommending school meals to parents and guardians because I have seen at first hand the quality of the food.  School lunches are a vital part of the whole school day and this website is a significant development for the education process in Nottingham.  I think it is very exciting that we have a local resource that we will develop and improve over time.”
