These are the most common questions that we are asked.
How much is a school meal?
The cost of a school meal in Primary Schools is £1.65.
What will my child have at lunch time?
Each day there is a choice of two main courses with some type of bread available and a selection of puddings. A selection of potatoes and seasonal vegetables and salads are also available. However some schools run a single menu so please check with your child's school.
Please send the money for five days with your child on Monday. The class teacher will collect it first thing in the morning.
What happens if I forget to send the money?
Your child will still be able to have a meal but you must ensure the money arrives the following day. If you continue not to pay for the meals the school will be instructed not to feed your child until the debt is paid.
How often do the menus change?
The menus change every half term and the menus reflect seasonal variations.
What happens if my child is ill and is not at school one day?
You will receive a credit for any meals not taken and the following week you would pay for four meals and not five.
How do you encourage children to adopt a healthy lifestyle?
We work very closely with schools to help them achieve Healthy School Status. If you look through the pages of the My School Lunch website you will see what we do. This includes encouraging children to take exercise.
