Archie the Bear says a good diet is very important and is one of the best ways of keeping fit and healthy. That’s why it’s very important to eat sensibly and eat a variety of different foods. This way you can grow fit and strong.
I always eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Sport is a good way to keep you fit and great fun too! It’s very important to do lots of exercise so I’m always out riding my bike or roller-blading with friends.
Here are some of my tips to help you enjoy food and stay healthy:
- Make sure you eat breakfast, it really is the most important meal of the day as it helps you concentrate and enjoy lessons more
- Try to eat five portions of fruit and vegetables each day
- Enjoy everything you eat
- Choose a mixture of foods and eat sensibly. Have a look at the Balance of Good Health food wheel to help you choose
- Try not to eat too many sweets and chocolate as they can harm your teeth
- Enjoy lots of exercise
Archie's top tips to eating your recommended '5 a Day';
- Drink a glass of orange juice with your breakfast (don't forget to brush your teeth afterwards!)
- Put some fresh or dried fruit on your cereal
- Eat some grapes or apple slices at break
- Enjoy vegetables and fresh fruit at lunchtime
- Snack on carrot sticks at teatime
