SCS are always looking for enthusiastic, reliable well-motivated team players to join our catering teams.

We are looking for staff to work in our units across Somerset and North Bristol, the majority of our posts are term-time only, Monday-Friday.  Listed below are example posts we have within SCS catering division: 

Catering Supervisor
You will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the kitchen and staff.  You will assist in the cooking of food, serve customers, assist with cleaning and undertake the necessary administration work in relation to the running of the kitchen.  Preferably qualified to NVQ2, with previous experience in a similar environment, together with the ability to lead and motivate a team and have the necessary skills to communicate effectively with both staff and customers.

Cook
You will be responsible for the preparation of food which will include the weighing-up of ingredients, checking/recording temperatures of food, cooking, completion of the day-book to plan and record the food produced daily, serve customers, assist with cleaning.  You will also be required to cook for special functions and to deputise for the Catering Manager/Supervisor in their absence.  The post will involve some cash handling.

You should have at least one years previous cooking experience.  Basic Food Hygiene training will be given.

Assistant Cook
You will assist the Catering Supervisor with preparation and cooking of meals, serve customers, assist with cleaning, control commodities on a daily basis and management of food store.  You would also be expected to assist with special functions and deputise for the Catering Manager/Supervisor in their absence.  You should have previous cooking experience.  Basic Food Hygiene training will be given.

General Kitchen Assistant
You will undertake general kitchen duties under the direction of the Catering Supervisor.  These will include simple cooking duties, preparation of basic ingredients, serving customers, clearing and cleaning of dining table and washing-up.  Previous experience is not essential.  Basic Food Hygiene training will be given.

We also provide a cleaning service to numerous schools and educational establishments across Somerset.
