Kitchen Garden Project 2010

Here are the instructions for the 2010 Kitchen Garden Project, including a letter for Headteachers along with growing instructions.

Kitchen Garden Project

Each year we send Suffolk schools free seeds and seed potatoes for you and your school friends to grow.  This year green fingered youngsters have been growing;

·         Salad Leaves  ·         Peas  ·         Radishes

·         Broad Beans  ·         Carrots

  • Borlotti Beans

Growing tips are available on another website, detailed here.

Why not have a go at growing some of your own vegetables at home this year?  It can be really great fun and you can grow different things depending on the season. This year we also issued 10, 000 seed packs to Suffolk children,  allowing them to grow the produce at home.

Why not ask your parent or guardian about doing this?

Seeds aren't expensive and you only need a small pot or container for some plants, whether it’s in a garden or upon a balcony.  The best area would provide warmth, sunlight, shelter, well drained soil and a water supply.

For more information on what when and where to grow different vegetables and saladstuff, click the above link.

Good Luck
