Pupils at Pigrims Way School, Farnham took part in Food Awareness Week from 9th-13th June.
The aim of the week is to teach pupils about healthy eating and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. This year Surrey Commercial Services highlighted the local produce which was used on the weeks' menu. This included Rhubarb, Strawberries, Broccoli and Potatoes. Those schools taking part also served Turners Dairy Yoghurt, which is made in Patching, East Sussex by an independant family business.
As part of the week the children worked closely with the catering staff, Elaine and Naomi, and were able to help in the preparation of each day's lunch. This included slicing vegetables for the salad bar, mixing colelsaw and chopping fruit for the fruit salad. Below are pictures from the week.
