What is L.A.C.A.?
national school meals week characters

Date: 23/5/2008

The Local Authority Caterers Association (LACA), made up of school catering professionals, is the official voice for the School Meals Industry.

The organisation gets involved in consultations with the Government and other recognised bodies on issues about childrens' diets and healthy initiatives such as Fruit in Schools and the Nutritional Standards for School Meals that became law in 2000.

It is also actively involved with organising marketing initiatives for school caterers to use in their schools. National School Meals week is just one of these schemes that is used to promote meals in school. The dates for 2008 have yet to be announced, however we will publish them here as soon as we know, so watch this space...
