Why Choose a School Lunch?

We want more and more parents to feel they can rely on Telford & Wrekin school meals to provide a well balanced healthy meal for their child.  Why spend crucial time making sandwiches and stuffing a lunchbox full of goodies to keep your child going through the school day, when we can do it for you at a great value cost of just £1.65 a day?

School meals really do take away the extra work for parents leaving you more free time to enjoy with your children while, at the same time, meeting the needs of children and what they want to eat.

Our menus comply with the government’s new standards for food in schools and have been specially created to use the healthiest ingredients, minimise the amount of fat, sugar and salt and they are additive-free, avoiding synthetic colours, preservatives and anti-oxidants known to be harmful or cause behavioural problems in young people.

This autumn term sees the introduction of fresh meat locally reared in Shropshire and Staffordshire and Belton cheese produced on a farm in Whitchurch, Shropshire.  We already use free range eggs from Church Stretton, organic yoghurt and ask our fruit and vegetable supplier to provide locally grown fruit and vegetables where possible.

It is really important for parents to support this valuable service, get involved, help on the menu design and come in for lunch to try them out.
