Hello to you all.
Students across the borough have been enjoying special lunches to celebrate Eid Ul Fitr.
Contract Services, the Borough's in-house catering provider, provided participating schools special themed lunches to celebrate the end of Ramadan. Students enjoyed Homemade Curried Lamb and Tomato, Homemade Vegetable Biriyani, Yellow Rice, Naan Bread, Vegetable Pakoras and a variety of healthy salads. The meal was complimented with a sponge cake served with custard with the inscription "Happy Eid" on the top.
The atmosphere was full of fun, as children were excited about this special day. Previously each child had been given an Eid activity sheet to complete. Every completed entry is to be judged and the prizes awarded to winners and runners up. This year there are 5 street scooters to be won as well as a prize for all the selected runners up.
Michael Hales, Head of Contract Services said, "This is fast becoming one of our most popular themed lunches each year and it is always wonderful being involved with all our community's festivals and devising a menu to suit such an occasion. The kitchen staff deserved to be praised for the hard work they put in to producing such a tasty lunch and getting so involved to make the day special for the children."
