More than 60 local primary schools enjoyed a special Football Fever this week, thanks to the catering team at CSCS – School catering The children and staff were able to tuck into balanced Italian and French homemade meals served with a selection of vegetables and three varieties of salads. Finishing off with a lemon sorbet accompanied with a wafer and a large fresh fruit platter, the feasts were enjoyed by all. The Council’s Children’s Service Contract Services cater for 100% of primary schools within the Borough, and provides the borough’s young people with more than 20,000 school lunches per day. Head of the Service, Michael Hales said: “With the football tournament taking place right now we felt that a football themed lunch this month would be ideal. This themed day has clearly been a huge success and special thanks must go to the Heads of Kitchens who have excelled themselves yet again and made this a special day for the children in their schools through the healthy and fun meals they have provided. A competition was held throughout the week, with pupils being asked to design a football shirt for the services mascot Trigger. There are 5 prizes of street scooters up for grabs The winners will be picked at random.
