The School Nutrition Award for Tower Hamlets is now entering its 6th year. It was developed by Children's Services Contract Services (the in-house school meal providers of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Council) and the Community Dietitian (part of Bart’s and the London NHS Trust Nutrition and Dietetics Department). The award has been gaining increasing recognition within the primary and secondary schools in Tower Hamlets.
The award recognises the ‘whole school approach’ to food and nutrition issues within the local schools, providing recognition to the individual school catering service and nutrition-related activities e.g. breakfast clubs, grow your own garden, water provision, organised within the school.
